26 NOVEMBER 2010 AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK
0830 Hrs. After breakfast, check out and depart for Amboseli National park. Arrive in time for lunch at Amboseli Sopa Lodge. Lunch and later in the afternoon game drive will be provided in the park till late in the evening. Return to your lodge for overnight.

AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK: Amboseli National Park, at the foot of Africa's highest mountain, 5895m Kilimanjaro. It is a popular kenyan national parks. Situated 250 Kms from Nairobi on the southern part of Kenya close to Tanzania border. The peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro is above a saucer of clouds dominates every aspect of Amboseli. The park covers 392 sq km. It is smaller in size and has a fragile ecosystem it supports a wide range of mammals over 400 species of birds and 50 large species.
The park supports most spectacular displays of wildlife - lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, cheetah, buffalo and hosts of plains' game, creating Kenya's most sought after photographer's paradise. Amboseli provides best game drives all year round this is because it is supported by the swamps and there is a fine lookout on Observation Hill which offers views over the whole of the Park.

0800 Hrs. After breakfast depart with packed lunch 900 Hrs. Pick up from Aberdares and drive to Samburu National reserve to arrive in time for lunch at Samburu Serena Lodge. Lunch and early afternoon at leisure. Later in the evening an afternoon game drive will be provided in the reserve.

0700 Hrs. After breakfast depart Lake Naivasha. Arrive in late morning at Ostrich farm. This day you will be provided with Ostrich Ride and more fun. Later lunch will be provided at Ostrich farm. In the late afternoon drive to Lake Naivasha and check in at Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge. Dinner and overnight at Lake Naivasha Sopa lodge.

Morning breakfast and depart with packed lunch to Lake Nakuru National park. Have a full day game drive in the park. Lunch will be provided at the picnic site. Later in the evening drive to Lake Elementaita Lodge for overnight.

LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK: Lake Nakuru is a very shallow strongly alkaline lake 62 km2 in extent. It is set in a picturesque landscape of surrounding woodland and grassland next to Nakuru town. The landscape includes areas of marsh and grasslands alternating with rocky cliffs and outcrops, stretches of acacia woodland and rocky hillsides covered with a Euphorbia forest on the eastern perimeter. The lake catchment is bounded by Menengai crater to the north, the Bahati hills to the north east, the lion hill ranges to the east, Eburu crater to the south and the Mau escarpment to the west. Three major rivers, the njoro, makalia and enderit drain into the lake, together with treated water from the town's sewage works and the outflow from several springs along the shore. Lake Nakuru was first gazetted as a bird sanctuary in 1960 and upgraded to National Park status in 1968. A northern extension was added to the park in 1974 and the lake was designated as a Ramsar site in 1990. The foundation of the parks food chains is the cyanophyte spirulina platensis which can support huge numbers of lesser flamingo.

After breakfast, drive to the Masai Mara National Reserve offering wonderful scenery and plenty of game. (350 Kms). It is perhaps the only region left in Kenya where the visitor may see animals in the same super-abundance as existed a century ago.

Check in at your Luxurious Tented Lodge. Lunch and afternoon game drive in the reserve till late in the evening.

MASAI MARA GAME RESERVE: Probably the most famous of the reserves, the Masai Mara, in Kenya's south western corner, boasts an astonishing amount of game. Unfenced, the Mara is bounded in the east by the Ngama Hills and in the west by the Oloololo or Siria Escarpment. Gazelle, wildebeest and zebra graze in large numbers and where prey is found so are predators. Not only is this a great place in which to find game, but the wide greeny-gold savannahs spotted with thorn trees make it ideal for photography. The Mara, as it is known in Kenya, is ravishingly beautiful and also offers long, undisturbed views and utterly dramatic panoramas. The weather really means something here. The sun may beat down un forgivingly, huge clouds in fabulous shapes may sweep across the widest of skies, the wind ripples the grasses as though they are stroked by a giant hand. The landscape is stunning. Famously, the Mara is the northerly end of the Great Migration, that great primeval surge of wildebeest, zebra and antelope that sweeps in from Tanzania's Serengeti to Kenya's Masai Mara as the Tanzanian grass starts to fail.
