SIGHT 01: LONGIDO

Longido is situated 80km less than 2 hours drive on tarmac road from Arusha town and it lies on the foot of Longido Mountain that rise at 2690m from the plains. Maasai families live in small-scattered traditional Bomas over the plains, and the Maasai warriors wonder about their cattle looking for pasture and water. Longido is a bird watching paradise; birds that are found in the area are starling, red and yellow barbet, secretary bird, silver bill and masked weaver and more… This sight is also home to buffalo, lesser kudu klipspringer, giraffe, silver, jackal and zebra and you can get close to them by walking.
